Anyone had experience with these weapons? I inherited an antique gun case(skeleton key and all).I'm not into the AR's,AK's etc.I would like to stock it with old style rifles and maybe pass them on to my son some day.I'll have a budget of about one a mth, privided my wife doesn't kill me first.I think it would be an awesome investment.Thoughts?

Both Henry and Winchester make very nice rifles. Uberti also makes very nice replicas of several old rifles. Uberti replicas are costly but are tremendously good investments and nothing looks quite as good in a safe as a brand new shiny uberti Henry repeater.
One thing you certainly must do is shoot them though!

I really want a Henry or other brand lever action .44 mag short barrelled rifle. Just for the Jehovah's Witnesses and such.

Oh I intend to shoot and maintain them. The case holds 10 rifles or shotguns with two lockable ammo drawers.I just want to display them when my brothers and I aren't shooting them.

Ruger No 1 is also another cool piece you could add.
I have a Henry Golden Boy and an old Winchester 30/30. Both very nice guns to have. The 30/30 was given to me by my father and I bought the Henry to give to my son.

I looked at a Golden Boy...fine looking rifle.

I'm jealous. I'd love to have some of those old style rifles.
First one would have to be a Henry repeater. So stupidly good looking and the action is like glass.

Been checking those out online also.

If you go for the winchester model 70 get the pre 1964 version. For some reason that one is considered the "collectable one". Another one you might look for is a Savage Stephens which is a pretty cool combo gun.
When you look for a gun for a collection look for special features not common to other similiar rifles, proper wood to metal fit, make sure the checkering if there is any is straight and the diamonds are sharp. Oh check the serial numbers, some times a rifle will be made of inferior quality to that of its peers, or above quality the serial number will go a long way towards telling you if the weapon is special or not.
