Why do Southern males love Chevy so much?

Seems like that southern males love Chevy, I'm going by number if used vehicles for sale and personal experience. Why is this? It is not like they are made in the South. Or have any Southern connection. Anyone understand this phenomenon?

Always have been Chevy guy until the last two burned us. Silverado is on third transmission- I know how to drive and not rough on truck. Tahoe has had multiple issues- leaking sunroof which GM has advised us that their vehicles are not made to withstand todays high pressure modern carwashes, bad tire pressure sensors, plastic interior parts breaking, front bumper coming off, etc. In my opinion GM did not resolve to my satisfaction. So this southern guy is done with Chevy.

Is this true? This board is exceptionally pro-Ford from what I can tell.

It dates back to the commercials featuring Bob Seger's song "Like a Rock."

I comapred the Ford Lariat with the GMC Sierra SLT last weekend and was able to get the GMC for $12k cheaper than the Ford. GMC had some special incentives going on which made up my mind for me. They both had the features I wanted but I must say I am blown away by the technology on the GMC. It has Apple play, built in wi-if, back up camera, voice command, a/c seats, wireless phone charger, laser distance alerts, etc. Apple play basically shows the apps of your phone on the touch screen and you can operate SIRI by voice commands over the touch screen. Maps, music, text messages and several other apps are available. It has a very quiet and smooth ride as well, much like a luxury car. I'm sure the Ford has equal options but couldn't pass on the price.
