Anyone here get lucky enough to hunt WL during teal season? Hoping to score one of the marsh/rice field hunts for regular season. Has anyone been in previous years? If I score one, it's gonna be a hellava drive from NOLA for that pre-dawn check in.

Don't you have to pay a ton of money if picked?

I'm not exactly sure what your question is but if you get picked make a weekend out of it get a hotel room and bring a camera. Do everything in your power to be there. It's that good.

I paid $5 for the application and it'll be an additional $350 to hunt. Each person can bring an additional guest. I figure $175 a person isn't going to break the bank, plus the money is going back into the cause, so it's a good deal.

Now, that's for the marsh hunt. I think I the rice field hunt is $225, and I could bring 2 guests.

I'm assuming it'll be a neat experience for the lucky guys/gals picked.

I have hunted both the rice field and marsh for teal and big duck season a few times. The marsh is insane and is way better hunting limiting out every time shooting mostly green heads. Rice is hit or miss just like any other hunting. Good thing about the marsh is you hunt with a guide. Good luck

Did the rice field hunt last year. It was ok...shot 6-7 birds btw 2 of us and 1 speck. A couple of pits shot limits and a couple shot none. I've been in the marsh for teal season...that's where it's at. Plus it's a cool experience riding in those old wooden mud boats out into the marsh.

Calls went out on Oct. 29th for first split. Call Schuyler Dartez for details about $$. Awesome hunts, and regardless if you get your limit which you probably will. You will leave with plenty ducks. Class operation. Love it out there. I visit often

We got pulled for the marsh hunt Nov. 24. Pretty pumped about it since this is my first time entering.

I got picked for teal and marsh last year. Didn't get teal this season and waiting on the marsh, not looking good for me. It's a great hunt.
