1-2 lbs are delicious fried. Coat meat with mustard, Louisiana hot sauce and meal...fry...delicious!

I've made ceviche out of very fresh bass out of a private lake (under one pound). Also delicious.

Seems to me like bass out of the big lakes don't taste near as good as bass out of a small pond. I think it has to do with the lake bass feeding on shad.

Small spring fed pond on our farm that that stayss cool and clear and the bass taste great, almost as good as the bream.

Bass fished alot growing up but I've never eaten one. My dad and I always practiced catch and release. Nothing against those that keep them though....no different than filling an ice chest with specks. I'm kinda curious how they taste to be honest

Is it really really a thing for people to get mad at others for eating bass? I have never heard that in my life

How many people keep fish in Toledo? Best bass lake in the nation.

For the first year or two we would keep them. Now we bring what we catch back into the cove and release them at the boat house hoping they hang around.

One of the best bass lakes in the world and want to keep it that way.

I mostly bass fish for fun. But every now and then I'll keep some to eat. My own personal rule is nothing under 12" and nothing over 17". I'll occasionally bend that rule just a little if I'm having trouble getting a limit.

I grew up bass fishing but I've never had one. My dad said they are gross so we never kept any. Now I'm curious.

Don't get me wrong, they're no sac au lait in the grease. But you catch 15 sacs and 6 bass, filet, batter and fry, you and a few buddies are eating good son.

We fish private lakes that don't get fished enough, and pull out all the small ones to help the lake. Probably doesn't make much of a difference, but every bit helps. Kids get a kick out of eating what they catch.

Marsh bass that feed on shrimp are better than totally fresh water bass imo. You can half shell them just like reds.
