What's the best place to list guns for sale...

...so I don't get inundated with calls for goofballs who only want to waste my time? I have a seldom-shot BPS 12 gauge I'm looking to convert to cash.

I would think LAS is the best place to flip it quickly. Maybe gunbroker if you want to get max money, but that is going to be more involved on your part.
ETA: I'm not sure there is a place that you can sell it without being sent a bunch of lowball offers. Maybe Cabelas or a pawn shop, but I doubt you get much for it.

I'd be interested to know what you end up getting for it.

How much?
$500. the same gun brand new is $600. I bet a case of shells has not passed through this gun. I bought it for my son who used it a few times then switched to semi-auto.

I thought about Cabela's, but I'm sure they'll really lowball me.

for a $500 shotgun you could list it anywhere...
armslist is what i use
not sure what kind of lowball offers you'd think you'd get since you can buy a new one for slightly more than you'd be asking. i would just keep it

I have the same gun with the wood stock and was only offered $300. I wind up keeping it because my father gave it to me as my first shotgun.

This...
and besides...unless you really can't swing another gun's price...you should never sell any gun...

This.
Its his first shotgun that you gave him, it should have some sentimental value to both you and him. It is also a good backup shotgun for him.
My dad gave me his old BPS 12 gauge in 1990, it is a bottom eject, which is pretty cool. Has pheasants engraved above the trigger by the chamber, and a wood stock. I am always proud to take that gun out of its case when I use it. I still shoot skeet with it a lot, and used it on my first pheasant hunt last year. Will never let that gun go.
However, if you really want to sell it, Louisiana sportsman is probably your best bet.

$500.
Sorry, but that gun just isn't worth that.
Maybe $450 max and likely less than that.
But, best of luck to you.
