Possibly. Guys definitely uses his boat but I don't think he runs them recklessly. The 1 of 2 new ones get got last week had something wrong with the counter weights

I had a F115 on my bass boat and never had an issue. Dad has the 2 stroke Yamaha on his bay boat and it's very sensitive. Been in the shop 3-4 times for "bad gas"

My place of employment has a 21' Triton and a 21' safe boat. The safe boat came with twin 250 Mercs but was told they "burnt up" and we now run Yamahas on all 4 of our boats

Sorry I don't have better details on why one failed vs the pros of the other. This is just my experiences with big motors

Last time I looked a 250 hpdi is a 2 stroke and their reliability use to be suspect. The yammie f series 4 strokes are some of the most reliable engines made. The who technology has had some bugs.

Having fished some of the most remote waters on this planet, there is one thing that nearly every remote camp had in common... Yamaha outboards.

Maybe it's a coincidence, maybe not. I don't know. All I know is every time I've been someplace where replacement parts and dealer service was impossible, they all ran Yamaha.
