I love my 200 Suzuki but all of them are pretty good, except that I've heard mostly bad things about Verados. I also hear the Hondas are good but there aren't a lot of repair places in this region that service Hondas.

Our Yammy 225 has had zero issues in 11 years of use.

I hope it's a 2015 Yamaha 250.

My dad bought a Yamaha 115 new ten years ago and has never had one issue with it.

His buddy has a 225 Yamaha VMax on his pontoon boat and swears by it.

yeah, i've always been a yamaha fan, my uncle is looking at the mercury, i think his old 2 stroke is a merc and his neighbor has a merc that he always kind of follows his train of thoughts, looking for some solid ammo to help persuade him.

buddy has a 200 Vmax on his 22' Skeeter Bay Boat. thing has a holeshot that will make a 300 hp 4 stroke envious and tops out at around 58 fully loaded.

Negative, unless you are an outboard mechanic.

Based on looks alone... I'd say they stack up like legos.

I can't speak about the new ones, but when they first came out, my charter capt. Buddy bought one and had to put it in the shop several times over the first couple of years. It quit on him with customers more than once. He has a four stroke hammy now and has had no problems. We have a 13 yr old c90 yammy on an aluminum hull and it's only been in the shop for routine maintenance. It's never not started and it's never not gotten us home.

I only have two rules:

Never let your sister work in a whorehouse and never buy a brand-new outboard motor design.
