Here's a new one for $400, so maybe 350 wouldn't be a bad price

Yea this is one case where "tree fiddy" could actually apply. GunBroker has 15-22 listed with buy it now prices in the $350 area.

They are good guns. Very fun to plink around with. I would recommend, but wouldn't pay over $250.00 for a used one.

I've got one listed on la sportsman right now. Never fired.
$250 lightly used is a fair price I'd think.

My son (he's 11) wanted a .22. Trying to teach him that he has to work for what he wants, I offered him my 15-22 for $200. I've been planning on getting a new one.

He finally saved all his money and paid for it a few weeks ago. He's pretty proud of it to say the least.

I'll buy a new one before too long. I did see some for $299 new but they didn't last very long except for pink or purple camo.

Now that he worked for it and paid for it. You should go buy $200.00 worth of ammo and give it to him.

Oh, he definitely doesn't have to worry about ammo. I was one of the hoarders....

Glad yo see this thread. I'm thinking of buying another 22lr auto rifle also. My only 22lr since I was a kid has been a Marlin Model 60 Carbine.

What are the OBs thoughts on M&P 15-22 vs Ruger 10/22 tactical?

Are there any AR style 22lr that anyone would recommend over the M&P?

You can build the Ruger 10/22 tactical for cheaper than you can buy it.

Just get a cheap 10/22
Put on a Hogue overmold stock
New barrel
A bx-25 magazine and you're good.

I don't know if there is a better AR style .22 than the 15-22. It's a well made and balanced gun that has been very reliable for me. Plus its pretty dang accurate.
