What'd You Do This Rainy Weekend...

tore down and cleaned and oiled fishing gear...
then pulled out all of my duck hunting gear...cleaned it up...set up blind bag, decoys, jerk cords, mojo's...
oh yea I cleaned my shotguns again...
I have the fever bad...

Im a dumbass. Just to get out of the house, I went fishing Saturday morning out of Shell Beach. The only bigger idiots than I were ones that were in kayaks. God rest your souls. When I got back I checked the Shell Beach weather station. It was 24mph steady gusts to 32mph most of the day.

We're holding maybe 150 teal and see big groups of specks daily. They take our fields occasionally. Seems to be a good sign. Usually I don't kill my first speck until Christmas. So way earlier this year hopefully.

in the public land I hunt only a few teal and the resident woodies, whistlers and grays...

Killed ducks. We opened South Zone yesterday here in Texas. Still mostly Teal but seen lots of Pintails and waiting on Mottleds to be legal because lots of them were flying. Missed the rain Saturday was an act of God.

Watched football, drank beer and cooked a pork roast all day Saturday.
This morning my son and I went to church and then put all new lights on the boat trailer. It just started raining again here in LC.

Friday, Marksville for the night and done this twice in one night. 
Even did great on the tables.
Yesterday, chilled and watched some football, slept.
Today, church, blessing of the graves and just getting back from a birthday party for a 90 year old friend.
