Already have a zero turn for cutting grass. The lot is mostly live oaks. Need something for spreading mud a few times a year, maybe some driveway work and possibly a small vegetable garden. Also what brand would you buy.

Kubota
Have a small 4 wheel drive with front end loader, back hoe and 60" belly mower. I love this little tractor.

I have a 38 hp JD with a loader and grader blade that I picked up on craigslist in New Iberia for $13k and it's all I need for a similar 5 acres.

Mahindra sadly...
John deere and kubota both have too many cast parts.
The mahindra has all welded construction, mitsubishi diesel engines, denso or bosch injection systems... and the list goes on.
Singleton sales down in...franklinton I think, was a good deal.
Kubotas are built as lightweight stuff these days and dont seem to hold up to abuse well.
A 30hp is fine for that. It can use 6ft implements no problem.

spreading mud
Any particular reason you used the word mud instead of dirt?
Are you trying to imply that you need something high clearance or capable of going through a some nasty stuff?

We run 100% John Deere on the farm, but for what you are talking about, Kubota. No question.

SUBMoa has a nice little Kubota that he runs for the same thing. I'd go Kubota
