No boogey man. Just the regular ole wompass cat and black panthers that stalk these here woods.

Land next to us used to be leased by shoe enthusiasts(really cool group of people). Never were in the woods before or after dark. Group stayed after dark. Saw the rugaroo. Abandoned everything and ran 3/4 of a mile back to camp. Gave up hunting. Said it almost got them.

My little brother once mistook a nutria cry for the rugaroo. We still make fun of him to this day for it.

Old guy that runs our lease says that about 10 years ago he was hunting in a box in the back of property, and shot a doe right at dark. A few more deer moved onto the green field right before dark so he sat for a while. Right at dark a black shadowy looking figure came out of the woods and spooked all the deer in the field. It came to the box and started scratching on the legs of his box, after a while it moved out to where the deer he had killed was laying. It stayed over the deer for a few minutes then made its way back the wood line. He said he didnt have a cell phone so he waited there till a few of the other members came looking for him. They went to get his deer and it was ripped to pieces, and head was gone.

Rugaroo no doubt.
Rugaroo also comes to our camp sometimes. When you wake up in the morning and all the beer is gone, but you sure don't feel like you drank that much, it's because rugaroo showed up and drank it all.

That was the name of our boogie man growing up at our lake house. This was 25 years ago. You just creeped me out

Ours is called the Taylor swamp man. I've lived all over the south and have heard the same type of stories from each place.
