Saltwater Gunite pool, new to treating. I use the granulated chlorine to assist the generator in making chlorine, and muriatic acid to control the pH. now I need a good algaecide available local or on Amazon for the best price to prevent algae. Near Baton Rouge.

You shouldn't have to add shock to a pool with a salt generator if everything is working properly. If your generator is working properly and algae is still growing then you need to check your cynaric acid level or get the water tested for phosphates.

This is right. Just because you have a salt splitter doesn't mean you can neglect the other chemistry. Also, regularly check your chlorine levels. Your salt splitter may not be making enough chlorine, or you may have to add salt.

You are going to want to use liquid chlorine or bleach to assist SWG so your Cya levels don't get too high. That's probably why your SWG can't make enough chlorine right now. No need for algaecide. I put in 40 oz of bleach a day and some muriatic acid every couple weeks and have had no issues with algae at all.
