Most of the time a DR-85 that I rebuilt the reed on, when not that a CA-22, or a home made call.

What did you do to it?

I have tried to mess with mine and shift the insert to get it more raspy, but I just cant get it right where I want it.

I have gone to these Casey calls from a guy in Benton. They are beautiful calls, and they have a nice raspy sound to them.

I made a new reed out of an old 50's style comb. It took several attempts to get it right but I got a sounds I was happy with and went with it.

The process is something that is somewhat old school and was very popular in S. La years ago especially SW LA. So not claiming I invented the process just tried to copy it.

My paw paw, my pops, and I have all used a Faulk's WA-11 the majority of the time.

Think I'm gonna ask for an RNT for Christmas though.

While I sometime pull out an rnt, my primary call is my Ole Raspy that I've also had for about that long. Waaayy before duck commander became popular and gay as it is now
