My vote is for the madarin too. I had one in a reef tank years ago.

Impossible to pick just one. Other than what's listed...

Blue face angel

Harlequin tusk

Clown trigger

Flame angel

Miniatus grouper

I could go on for days...

Way too many saltwater fish that could take this title, especially if you are looking at reef fish. Just about any angel, wrasse, tang or gobie fit in this category!

Hence the appeal of saltwater aquariums!

For gamefish though, offshore nomination goes to Mahi, Yellowfin and Wahoo.

Inshore nomination goes to reds in a pond full of grass that tend to have that deep pumpkin coloring.

... actually I'd vote for the mandarin gobi due to it's exotic coloration

Next time you throw that foot in the picture, wear shoes or don't paint your nails.

I've always wanted to do a reef tank. Started buying a few things several years back, but bailed out and sold the supplies I had. In the past year I put about $4K into my snakes - if I knew I was going to go overboard like that, I'd have put that money (and then some) into a reef tank. Some day it's going to happen - probably after we're done traveling with my kid for karate. I don't trust leaving a tank like that alone for several days at a time every few weeks.

I had intentions of making mine into a true reef tank but i haven't had the best of luck growing coral. I have to say that my flame angel is definitely the best looking fish in the tank. As far as sportfish go i have to give it to the mahi mahi

This is the correct answer. I dove with some in Indonesia a couple of years ago.

Saw a massive one at the Dry Tortugas last weekend. There are several on that reef that deserve mention.
