What is a Ruger Three Screw Single Six .22lr with both cylinders
Posted by LSUnowhas2 on 1/3/14 at 4:37 pm00
going for these days? I am holding my FIL's in my gun safe and I really like it. His is stainless with the 6 1/2" barrel. I did some research and apparently they stopped making them with three screws around 1973. I want to get one to hold onto for my son when he is old enough to shoot. Just not really sure what is a good price. Any info is greatly appreciated.

Ruger did not make any 3 screws out of stainless steel.
The gun could have been hard chromed by someone (aftermarket). Can you post pictures?

I just got my Dad's Colt Frontier Scout, a competitor.
The Colt zinc alloy frame is a major factor in lack of value I think. I think both are in the $4-500 range. Colt gets a bump for being Colt, Ruger gets a bump for steel frame.
Enjoy the flame on WMR's. Loud as hell!
Remember to carry with only 5 rounds, hammer down on the empty cylinder.

I'll try to get a picture tomorrow. I don't know much about the gun other than my FIL bought it used.
But this gun isn't at issue. I need to know what a good price is to buy one.

I asked my FIL and he said that it had been refinished at some point prior to him getting it. Whomever did it did a good job. I thought it came like that.
