Crabgrass is an annual.
Use this in December or January to keep the seed from coming up next year--

Crabgrass is an annual, as stated. Put down a pre-emergent so that it never sprouts. It is a grassy weed, not a broadleaf, so 2,4-D won't take it out.

You can get crabgrass killer at lowe's.
