Never owned one. Want something light weight... price between $150-$250? Obviously want aluminum, 15-19lbs. Thanks

If you look around, you can probably grab an aluminum summit viper for close to 250. I think mine was in the 260's when I got it last year. I added MOLLE back pack straps.

Summitt Viper. Have had mine for 10 years. Will never buy another type besides this.

I have a Summit Viper, bought it for $150 used. Love it, very comfortable and lightweight.

I have the summit classic. Heavy but very comfortable.

Next climber will be the alum version.

API is still the best climber made.

Sat in Summit Viper last year, have an API. They are both nice. If I were to give them both grades, the Summit would edge out the API in every category except ease of climbing, foothold design makes it tough in my size 12 boots

I like chain vs. cable, and APIs teeth cannot be beaten.
