Got mine a set of HID headlights for his Dodge Ram since the factory halogen projectors suck a big one. Plus his eyes are pretty awful and he's started complaining about his scopes getting fuzzy. He almost thought it was the scope itself but after looking through multiple he realizes it's his eyes. Aging sucks.

Got him a Louisiana Bowhunter Logo T3 Grunt Call before we went to Illinois. He loves it.

Since he killed a great buck on that trip I got him a picture of that buck printed out on a metal art thing for his desk

You bet your arse it does. I am in my 60's. What I have learned is that you can still have a pretty decent quality of life, but you have to be flexible, adapt, and pace things a little more. My scopes were fuzzy, too, until I had cataracts removed from both eyes. Sort of had to do a refresher on shooting with no cataracts and new lenses, but it didn't take that long. I never imagined myself being this age years ago, but if I had I would have taken better care of myself. That said, there's no time like the present. You can still hunt, fish, screw younger women, enjoy good whiskey and cigars, and many of the other good things life has to offer.

I got my dad one of those multi sensor weather stations. Shows rain gauge, interior and exterior temps and humidity wind speed etc. he seems to like it. Has a big color display that sits next to his favorite chair. It's wireless so just had to mount the outdoor part and sync it to monitor.

My heart goes out to you, Broke. And to everyone else that will spend this season without their dad.
As I type, my dad is on the losing end of pancreatic cancer. I would think he will make it to Christmas, but no way to really know.
I'm open to a gift idea. Yesterday I gave him a 4 page letter reliving memories, explaining how much I appreciated and loved him. That would've been a good gift, but was afraid to wait.

On another note...
If my dad was healthy, I'd probably get him that Work Sharp, Ken Onion Edition knife sharpner.
Instead, I got it for a friend. Everyone wants sharp blades.

3 pages and not one mention of knock off Yeti cups filled with 22lr bullets, guess that proves y'all are a bunch of hoarders.

Frozen bullets don't work well in a gun.
I'm going to get mine what I usually get him every year. A decent bottle of bourbon that we will immediately open and share with my two brother in laws Christmas evening.
And he will probably have each of us a different bottle of bourbon as a gift. Although he is getting me a nice cordless drill/driver set this year so I may get skipped over on the bourbon.

The knockoffs don't freeze everything it touches like a Yeti would.
