Heading down Friday. I realize all the fresh water is going to have things screwed up. Anybody have reports for the area?

Thanks in advance!

Check noaa for the salinity, might not be as bad as you think. Calcasieu is starting to get right so I dont think that area will be far behind. Still hope u dont catch shite

Salinity at Hackberry is under 8. How is that "getting right"?

Cypremort Point is for sunsets, not fishing.

I was there 2 weeks ago, water looked like chocolate milk, no signs of life in that water. I have seen a few pull in some reds from the bank though.

Clean water isn't all that easy to find at Big Lake these days. I went searching last weekend with no luck.

That still isn't good. Big Lake 411 has gauges for Hackberry and I-10 near L.C.
When the salinity gets from 8-10 at I-10, then it's usually about 18-20 at Hackberry.
That's getting right.
Several years ago we had a drought and the trout pooled up 210 bridge. It was like shooting fish in a barrel.
The last 3 years have been the opposite.

Nice, didnt know there was a website strickly for big lake.

Looks pretty dead over there, the salinity/tide charts will be easy access tho.

We been fishing Toledo Bend this last year because a trout fishing has sucked.
If you want to throw some dead shrimp in a canal and catch black drum, SheepHead and croakers and drink beer that's the most probable outcome right now.
May find some reds and flounder in the marsh.
