BIL dam near stepped on it today at the camp. Thought I would share that there is one less in the woods.

Did the same 2 weeks ago. 10 and a button, 5 1/2 ft. Scared the crap out of me. One of the bad parts about early season and camera work.

NICE! Having said that, I learned yesterday that it's actually an infraction in LA to kill a rattle snake. The man who told me that said he personally knew a man who was fined $750 by LA game wardens for killing a rattler (they apparently saw the pic of him and his kill in the small town newspaper and showed up at his front door). I've not checked for myself, but the man told me he'd checked for himself on the 'net and indeed it is an infraction. No one else in the class was aware of the rule. I've not checked yet, but I will later.

Perfectly legal to kill a snake on private property. Can't kill any on state WMAs or federal refuges even though many people do
