On big lake today we had to pull a baoter out of water. Thrown overboard and his boat was in a death circle when we got to him. He got away but the prob pretty much cut his hand off at the wrist.Got him intk our boat and hauled him to Herbert's Marina to the EMT. Was in bad shape. Lots of blood in water. Used a belt as a tourniquet ( turns out the rope from our bumper pad is better for that) to slow the bleeding. EMT said he should make it with good vitals but there is no way in hell that hand is going to function again. No life jacket and he was better than 275.

Wear the damn kill switch please

Update:
Ldwf called to ask me a few more things. They say he had surgery last night and they were able to keep his hand! Not sure how much movement he will have. He is stable in a local hospital!

after working in the ER and operating room for 7 years you learn a few things and the simple things like how important that kill switch and a life jacket can be..

Good Job today Bud....

That's nuts. Glad he made it. Could have been a lot worse if you and the other boats weren't around.

We left it running in circles....let it run out of gas. Sheriffs were going to handle that

Sorry you had to do that that, what an a-hole put a lot of responsibility on you because of their ignorance as usual with the climate we live in where no one is responsible for their actions. Darwin should have had his way

Honest question: what does our climate have to do with people falling out of boats?
Good job OP
