Looking for suggestions on good water shoes. Using them for kayaking, canoeing, tubing, light hiking, beach ,etc.

Thanks in advance

Keenes are a good water sandal, I have Merrells and they are a true water shoe, like a ventilated tennis shoe. Highly recommend either.

which Merrell do you have? looking at those and look like most are on the heavy weight side. The "All Out Blaze Ventilator" don't seem bad weight wise.

one of the things i want to use them for is while under water and not tear up the bottom of my feet on rocks, tree beaches etc.

Wondering if the Merrills All Out Blazes would be to heavy once they get wet.

Merrells like others have said, but also check out Vibrams. Almost all their shoes would match what you are looking for but they make one specifically for water called the Signa. None of this matters if you hate toe shoes though

Edit: spelling

I bought a pair of Columbia Bahama Vents PFG. Comfortable and are designed with drains.

I have merrells and I love em. I use them for exactly what you're talking about. I walk in the water with them and wear them kayaking.

I have Keens and Teva Omniun. Like both, but the Tevas are more comfortable and lighter.

I have some keens and they are average in the water. Not appreciably better than any other sandal I've owned. Closed toe seems to catch more junk than an open toe sandal but the closed toe is still a plus in my book. I wear them all the time when the weather is right.

I now use these when I'm on the lake.

Body Glove 3 toe shoes. Sort of like the Vibram 5 toe shoes except the 3 small toes are in a single toe box. Elastic cuff at the top keeps most of the gunk out. It has a drain in the bottom so it doesn't fill with water. Doesn't get weighed down by water when it's wet. I'm a fan.

Olukai Noheas are sick but pricy. I have a pair but they were a gift and I don't know that I'd go out and spend the money on them myself. Awesome shoe though.

Columbia shoes are about as durable as a paper towel. Merrell makes a really solid shoe too if you're into that look. I don't really like shoes with big vents or gaps in the size because I always wind up with sand, rocks, or mud under my foot.
