I had heard this from someone else too. It wasn't my gun so I didn't want to try and force the slide back on and break something. Noted though.

I agree on your video. I like how when you made comparisons on such things as the stippling on the handle you didn't make it a big deal that the VP9 was that much better. Yes, it is better but it doesn't make that big of a difference.
I agree the PPQ's trigger is better but the grip + trigger combo on the VP9 was better to me.
The original sights on the VP9 are luminescent. They are actually very nice for daytime shooting. I think it is illegal or something to have tritium in Germany on stock guns (I believe I read that somewhere). They are still metal but have a taper.
Like I said in my edited post, it's your thumb position on the slide lock.
I have around 2k rounds through the VP9 without a single failure (other than learning about the slide lock). I have run white box, american eagle, ppu (sp?), gold dot 124 +p, and the cardboard colored box at walmart. My favorite ammo for practice was the ppu 124 Nato rounds.

and HKparts.com sells an ultra match sear kit that drops the trigger pull by 2 lbs and makes the reset better. bout to pick one up. apex is also rumored to have a vp9 trigger in R&D right now
Oh that will be nice!

Thank you. Some details such as this really don't make a ton of difference in real time shooting. You just don't notice a marginal difference in grip texture.

I still don't like how the dots are not recessed. Every other manufacturer (for the most part) recesses the dots to make sure they don't rub off. I'm not a big fan of the colored part of the sights possibly wearing off.

Carson told me the same thing.
My response to that would be that they should redesign the slide lock. If that many people complain about having to change grips then the positioning of it is a problem. I shoot all handguns the exact same way and I've never had an issue with any other slides failing to lock. Maybe it's just horrible positioning. It bappled me ( ) because I didn't have a single issue with the PPQ locking and its slide release lever is much larger. It's strange how tiny differences can make a big difference.
But regardless, I think the VP9 shoots slightly better and it actually surprised me because the PPQ is an awesome gun.
Thanks for the constructive feedback.

I think it needs to be a little more pronounced so that it doesn't feel too comfortable when placing the grip. That's why I was doing it.

I think the bumped portion should be closer to the slide. It sits so low that it's tough to avoid with even a regular grip.

Nice Vid BigApple.

It's difficult to do that when you don't have a woman.

The ergonomics are light years ahead of Glock.
The ergonomics of the Walther are amazing.
I looked at a Walther PPQ this morning. Had never handled one before. My first impressions was it felt like it was made for my hand. Was incredibly comfortable in the palm.
I also handled a SCCY CPX-2 CBDE 9mm, M&P Shield 9mm, Hi-Point 9mm, Hi-Point .380, Kahr CM9, S&W M&P .40, and Sig Sauer P250 9mm.
The Walther was by far the most comfortable to hold. Didn't hurt that it is a really pretty handgun with the 2 tone look on. Deep green over black.
To put it simply, just holding it made me want to buy it.

I know the feeling!
Both of these handguns are excellent quality. I'm sure if you purchased one it would outlive you.

I like the fact that it wont break the bank either. I want to save up for one, but now that I traded for that M&P Shield. I am thinking I should start slowly putting together an AR.
