Midway USA

Scope has been discontinued, on sale for $250, list price of $489.

3.5-10x50mm, dead hold reticle. Anyone have an opinion, good or bad? Was thinking about getting another Nikon until I saw this.

Any idea why it's discontinued?

vortex upgrades and re-designs their product line every 2-3 yrs

pretty sure that's a 2014 model scope. Midway buys discontinued models in bulk from Vortex and dumps them at cheap prices.

I've been waiting for a good deal on a scope to come along for the 45-70 I picked up in the Walmart sale. I'm a rookie when it comes to scopes, do you all think this would be a good pair or is this too much scope?

MM

what make and model rifle is your 45-70 ?

I'd lean towards a 2-7x32 or even a 1-4x20 , German #4 reticle would be perfect

make sure the scope has lots of eye relief otherwise during recoil the scope may draw blood (cut your eyebrow)

That's why i asked the experts of the OB. I would mount this on a 7mm-08.

here's an option

4x scout scope with detach rings mounted on a picatinny rail

rear ghost ring peep sight .... scope can be removed as you can shoot with powered optics or open sights

Have this one on my 35 whelen. Nice scope for the price. If it had the bigger tube the price would be double.

Great scope for that price range. The Vortex warranty is second to none. Buy it.

Thanks, I like that Picatinny setup. I understand eye relief is important with the recoil on this gun but I just can't make myself like the look of those scopes mounted so far forward
