had Virginia Buttonweed invading my Centipede grass. Used a new herbicide called Blindside. took about 3 weeks, but the buttonweed is gone. Also worked well on the Doveweed. not cheap, but very effective. Comes in granular form and mix with water.

I hope you are right about this stuff, but buttonweed is starting to die out now anyway in South Louisiana.

Thanks, will have to look into it. If it'll kill buttonweed this late in the year after it's bloomed, it must be good stuff. Is it an RUP?

I have looked at Blindside as well but it is labeled as a suppressent for VB and not a control. You had that amount of dieback from one application?

yes. 1 application. took 3 weeks to totally disappear. Doveweed required a 2nd application in some areas.

Centipede is still alive, but very thin due to the buttonweed overgrowth

It's only labeled for suppression, so I'm anxious for someone else to help verify the results. Buttonweed is much easier to kill in the spring, so it's definitely worth a try come March.

2-4-D works great for me, even on the large mats.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Stick with products that use 2,4-D and dicamba for buttonweed, and kill it now.

Trimec, Speedzone, etc
