Vacuum Food Sealer
Posted by wryder1 on 6/12/16 at 3:03 pm00
I am looking to buy one for fish and game. What do y'all recommend?
Is the marinade option worth it for those that have that option?

Vacmaster VP215. Chamber units are it's at. Will seal pure liquid

Why are you people spending g that on d of change on an external sealer like that when for just a small amount more can have a chamber sealer

I second the vacmaster. I use mine all the time and it is head and shoulders better than the external types of sealers.

They're amazing. No more perforated expensive bags. Seals everything,no liquid loss at all. Thing builds a shite ton of vacuum for about 15 seconds then hits the bag with all that vacuum and then seals it immediately. Like In A nanosecond. Best money spent

I've been wanting to upgrade from food saver for awhile. Re: vacmaster, what happens if what you want to seal is bigger than the unit? Like bigger fish filets.

Have a model number? The ones I see are 800$ or 240$ and still need the rolls.

You have bag size limits with the external sealers as well.

Yeah, what I figured. I'll keep what I have for what I actually keep and continue giving the rest away in ziplock bags.
Thx though.
Thx though.
Foodsaver is plenty good enough for anyone buying groceries in bulk or making their own sausage, or bagging filet.
If you're using it for a business (where you can charge a premium for it to recoup some money) then chamber is the way to go, otherwise extremely overkill.

I use chamber for everything. Have a foodsaver in my pantry I haven't used for 3 years.

Well I'd hope you'd use the $800 over the $50-$150 one if you already own it. Doesn't change the fact that it's overkill for someone outside of a commercial kitchen or charter fisherman.

I mean not really. I just cut longer bags if I need to. It seems with that vacmaster I would have both a length and a width limit.
