I'm currently looking at a used F150. 2012 King Ranch 4wd with 5.0, 89,000 hwy miles, excellent condition. Do people tend to like the 5.0 and they experiencing any common issues?

5.0 is a great engine. 89k on it is no big deal, especially if its highway miles. If the price is right I wouldn't hesitate to buy that truck and put another 100k on it.

A 3 year old truck with 90k miles is nothing if it was decently cared for.

Or til 131,000 like mine did yesterday. Then the cam phasers fail, the engine jumps time, and the mechanic calls and says it'll be ~2 grand to repair...

Agree, but...

Price should reflect high miles and look hard for deferred maintenance.
