You can but they'll be ragged our old farm trucks. I window shop autotraded and Craig's list in search of a 1992-1996 f250 short bed crew cab 4x4. I will find one one day. There was a white one in MINT condition I found a few years ago. Was probably $15k. Ahh, one can dream...

Sorry for the bump but update. Went with the 6.8L V10. It has 120k miles and can pull 10,000 lbs. Found it from a private party and in really good condition. Went camping this weekend and the suburban was lagging and just didnt feel safe.

There's a company taking 6.7 F250s and doing Excursion conversions on them. They look fantastic and I'd love to see Ford bring them back. The conversions start around $40,000 I believe, no thanks.

Me too. I wouldve considered buying a new or slightly used one if ford still made them. Why did ford quit making them? Fuel prices?

It has a 44 gallon tank i love it!

They do that with the 2500 suburbans too. They put a diesel duramax in them and call them Duraburbs. Not many of them and they are not cheap.

I was about to tell you to get a big tank because those are major gas hogs. You should be able to find a bolt in 55 or 60gal one

My suburban is avg 12.8 mpg. The excursion shows avg 14. Either way i dont care about gas mileage unless its less than 10 but this will mostly be a trailer puller and around town. I bet we dont put 7500 miles per yr on it.

Also had airbags for the rear added and 17qt tranny cooler added. I felt i couldnt pass it up. The diesels were tempting but they had 250k miles in average condition asking $15-25k!!! I know the 7.3l diesels are bulletproof but thats outta my league for a weekender/ trailer puller

I have a '00 Excursion I bought for 4k two years ago - love the damn thing. Rather drive it over my newer vehicles. Add bigger/better rotors/brakes and steering stabilizer - you'll thank me. I had 4k in work done and she drives like new. I also have Toyo Open Country 10 ply's which I highly recommend.
