Maybe it's just the camera angle, but that hammer looks pretty crooked. Could be that it's hitting the firing pin more on the side instead of straight on and causing a light primer strike.

It also looks like your hammer pin is sticking half way out causing the hammer to hang off to one side.

pressure 5.56 would not only not run but would not fire after being struck. I dont get how that could be a gas issue?

Last time I had light primer strikes it was a mainspring issue caused by aftermarket grips on a handgun.

Your A/B troubleshooting has many of us stumped. With it being so new and within the warranty period, I'd be inclined to go with, "It's broke - give me another one" and drive on - if that's even an option.

I can see this kind of effort for a used gun, an inherited gun or even an old gun that stopped going "boom". But not this one.

Yeah-frick it. It's not worth your time and money. If SHTF, is this the gun you want to rely on for your and your family's safety, even if you get it fixed?

Are you suggesting no one should ever buy anything from PSA again?

In it's current state, even if it's running .223 just fine, hell no.

If it's fixed and has proven to operate fine over lets say 300-400 rounds, then of course I would.

No-I'm saying the gun you have is a POS. It's a lemon. Quit wasting your time and money on it, send it back, and get one that works.

Also, did you take the entire upper off of your buddies rifle and see if it would function with your lower?
