So I replaced it. Less than 24 hours later the replacement goes out. Any ideas?

Obviously you could check for a short.. Did you use bulb grease. My indicator light was blowing out every year till I started using bulb grease. Cheaper in the long run to get a can of dieltic grease then buying the little tubes at the counter.

Did you touch the glass on the new bulb when you were installing it?

I wan to say fuse, but it would blow if you had a short thus making a new bulb not "work" until the fuse was replaced. It's odd that it worked 24 hours.

I wore rubber gloves so I wouldn't get oil from myou hands on it. And I am sure I got the right bulb.

I didn't use dielectric grease though

you don't have to worry about getting a turn signal bulb dirty. Only halogen headlight bulbs.

Well it worked with the new bulb so it can't have gone out. Right?

when they get burnt the amperage spikes at the terminals sometimes causing the bulb filaments to burn out.

Or

Turns out the bulb was not pushed all the way into the socket. It clicked once and then I had to push REALLY hard with both hands to get the bulb seated all the way in the socket to get a second click. hopefully this helps some people like me who just aren't pushing the bulb all the way in which results in the bulb burning out quickly/shorting.

That does make sense. I felt like it needed to be seated further.

Thanks bud.

This is probably it. I just went through this, even took it to the mechanic. He took the thing out, pushed the bulb in all the way and just looked at me in disappointment.

It was embarrassing...but free, at least.
