Turkey hunting advice needed!

Me and the fiancé went this am. Bout 8 we were walking towards my plot and out if nowhere bird gobbles on the trail bout 100 yards out. We set up and before I could even call he gobbled again and is in our laps. She's getting her gun ready and the ol bastard pops out on the trail sees her move and trots off. I called one time to try and stop him. Question is, should I head back after him tom morn? He's been hanging out there for a couple weeks now.

Can you build a ground blind in the area? I played cat and mouse with an old Tom for a couple years. Bastard would rock the woods gobbling coming towards me initially, then make a wide loop totally silent until he'd get on my backside. Sometimes I think he'd sneak up and gobble just to watch me jump out my skin. Other times I just would hear him walking. Wasn't till I started hunting a 4way that I could see what the hell he was doing. 3 hunts later he was getting his measurements and photo taken at Spillway Sportsman.

I would hunt that 3 toed bastard till I killed him. I'd be there in the morning with a hen deke, a good slate call, and a lot of patience.

Shoot I've hunted the same bird 7 mornings in a row until I killed him.. At least once he spotted me and backed out but sure enough he came back the next day.. Go for it.

Don't overestimate his intelligence, if he's been out there for weeks he'll be back. The problem isn't you, its the hens he's with. Theres very little incentive for him to go to you as he is surrouned by pussy. I'd set up in the same place and instead of calling him I'd start mimicking the dominant hen. If you get her to come to you it's game over as he will follow...
Honestly, your best bet is to find another bird. Come back to him in a few weeks and hunt him in the late morning when the hens go to nest.
