We really like South Toledo state park. Nice landing and open water.

Thanks. We're going for the week next week and I know they'll want to go.

Honestly, I wouldn't tube anywhere on that lake but there may be some areas safer than others. I will admit that I don't know much about the other parts but midlake has stumps even in the boat lanes that very often are just under the surface of the water.

I was there a couple weekends ago and saw some idiot pulling two kids on a tube in the middle of the main running lane behind a party barge. Was around 2 miles south of the bridge when I saw that shite. It's some stupid people in this world.

I was at the park a year ago, I did not see that area, would have liked to find it...also the water was about 18" deep in the coves around the park.
When I was younger we would board up in pirates cove.

Pull them in the main boat lanes with bouys, close as you can to other boaters, jet ski's, and folks fishing in what looks to be the middle of no where. Make sure to start and stop a lot as close to those fishermen and make as much noise as possible. When all else fails head dead square out in the middle where you haven't seen any other boats and try there. Do it real early in the morning and again right before dark. Ignore other boats they will just move out the way. Drink like a fish so you can cuss people out if they say something to you. And make sure and use a center console boat so we all know where you are from. Thanks and good luck

It is clean in front of cypress bend. Wildwood has an open area as well. When the lake was super low we went in and cleared a huge area that we will pull the kids.

San Miguel has a fairly large recreation area also. That's where we go to tube.

Yeah, the wide open area between the spillway and dam is where we always tubed when I was a kid.

I'll make a deal with you. I'll be in a black and white Everglades center console with two Yamaha 250's. What boat you'll be in so I can gladly meet and say hello and tell you thanks for the great advice

Yep, I nailed that one. LMMFAO I knew it was a center console junkie that didn't have a clue. Buy a center console they said, you'll look like a big shot they said.

Some of the best water skiing conditions I ever had was in coves on the Texas side of the lake. They have a boat ramp not far from the dam and I think it was the third cove up (away from the dam) that was large enough to run two ski boats.
May not be the best for tubing as the only rough water will be the wakes and waves created by the boat but it should be very safe with no boat traffic or stumps.
