Off a quick google search I see the figures $3000 and $12,650

Your friend will need to bring his own lube to that party

Awaiting the letter from homeland security

I'm still waiting for one of those from over 5 years ago.

I was going through security at DFW and my briefcase went through the scanner, and then TSA pulled me aside. An overweight TSA lady started repeatedly yelling, "WHAT IS IN YOUR BAG!" but wouldn't let me go through it to see what was in it.

After 5 minutes of getting yelled at, a DFW airport cop came up, dug out two 30-06 rounds, and was actually cool about it after I showed him the deer I killed that year. I told him when I go home, I throw bullets and magazines in my briefcase to separate them from my rifle when I'm around my nieces and nephew. He talked to the TSA lady and I was allowed to go on my way with some paper saying that I may receive a fine. The TSA lady didn't seem real happy about it-she didn't get her collar. I never heard another thing about it.

Oddly enough, or not, I made it through the Memphis airport with those rounds in there the day before.

Honest mistake of course... got flooded threw gun in bag to evacuate spare clip never made its way out the bag. the cop was pretty cool and said it happens often. He said up to 12k fine for a gun, but ammo shouldn't be too harsh. We shall see. Even offered to return it but flight back was after hours

LoL. My TSA guy demanded to see my ticket before I could collect my bags off the X-ray belt. I told him three times the ticket was in the bag on the belt but he just kept saying "don't touch the bags until you show me your ticket!"

If I remember right, my fine was about $1,500. They offered a 50% discount for payments under 30 days which I took.

My fine was for a loaded revolver in my computer bag. I was probed thoroughly and released in time for the next flight.

I was flying back from a trip with a bunch of shotgun shells. Someone told me I could fly with 2 boxes. I had my 2 boxes and a bunch of loose shells. I put the loose shells in a boot in my suitcase.

I get home and all the shells in the boot are gone but the 2 boxes are still in there.

This was checked bag, not carry on. I never heard from anyone. Not even a note in the suitcase.
