Its been a couple years since I have been out there, but I use to catch some nice specks on topwaters out there. I was thinking about heading out there within the next week or so.

Has anybody heard anything from out that way?

(Half Moon Island is in Lake Borgne for those who are just wondering)

Haven't heard anything from our there recently, but normally in the spring I do well on the cuts on the east side of the island fishing an incoming tide with a west wind. The tide coming into the lake combined with the wind blowing off the island pushes water out of those cuts really hard and fish gang up off those flats to smoke bait pouring out of there. Be careful getting too close though because those flats are shallow.

Trout have been kinda slow on the Rigloets side of Borgne lately but they're starting to show up. You might do well out there. If not, run to Au Pitre. They're somewhere out there. Go find em and let me know where they're at haha. Good luck.
