I believe that it's basically over, if i had to put a percentage, 85% of the fish have spawned out.... This is the earliest i've ever heard South water temperatures being so high for so long. Not to mention the top water bite doing so well, SO early. I saw reports South/pictures of 5 or 6 four/five pounders that are long and skinny..... The fish we caught last time there were spawned out or males

what's everyones opinion? I know they all spawn at different times/in different waves but i think the "waves" started early February due to a LACK OF WINTER.

Every fish we caught this weekend had eggs in them and they were in deeper water. I think it will still go on for a few weeks.

There will e fish spawning in may, it happens every year. Fish are different, some don't follow the crowd, like certain people...There will be waves of spawners for a while, even though the big rush of early spawners may be over.

What advice do you have for this weekend? Will be near San Miguel but wouldn't mind trying other areas if the Indian mounds area is packed.

I'm not a good person to ask this year.

i would definitely fish the HayGrass with a frog/swim bait/white spinner bait at breaking day-first hour, then i would flip edges of haygrass, if you lose that bite, either go flip buck brush or try to fish points with cranks that go 7-10 feet

and I never like how people say "they spawn in May" , i agree they do but it's all about water temp and it's the highest water temps i've ever seen this early, water temps are easily a MONTH ahead of a "typical" year, I recall reading a report late January of a 10+ on a jig in 2' of water which is insane but we all know we didn't have a winter (if you duck hunt, you know, that's for sure, worst year I've been alive for but i'm only 26 and have hunted since i was 7)
