Don't buy that gun. S&W is good stuff, but that gun is the exception to the rule.

I carry the S&W Shield 9mm, and I have the S&W M&P .45 for home protection. I adore both of these weapons immensely.

Exactly this, although occasionally I carry the .45

Yep. Split right up the middle. I carry every day of my life.

Gun in my purse, knife in my bra. It somebody steals my purse he's getting the knife right in the jugular and I'm taking my gun back.

If you on a budget buy a Taurus. Not the best, but better than that. I have a 24/7 9mm that I picked up cheap and have been surprised by.

I saw the 45 Shield for the first time this weekend. Any opinions on these? How's 45 recoil in the small Shield frame?

I do not know this. I have the 4" barrel on my M&P .45 and it is a dream. Don't know about the .45 Shield, but I'd like to shoot one to find out.

I love S&W, so I have faith that it would be a nice weapon to shoot.
