Built a deck & privacy fence at the camp over the holidays. Needing to seal it soon before pine starts to turn grey. Is Thompson's the best product to prevent this look?

Check out reviews, Thompson's is far from the best product to use...

Took me a second to realize this was not the fence you built over the holidays. Little slow this morning.

Used a product on my house called Ready Seal. It's a stain/sealer, but at the time when I was doing research it seemed like the best product on the market, though I don't remember all the specifics.

We used a product called WoodRx on our pier. Its not transparent but has a normal pressure treated look. We used a deck pad and put it on once a year. Pier looks brand new despite being over saltwater.

I had a 3 level deck at my prior house for 15 years. I started using Thompsons and quickly realized it was not what I needed. Someone told me that it was better for the deck if I used a product that contained more color pigments to help block the sun's rays. So I usually used a waterproofing stain that had a slight redwood tint. More expensive, but my deck looked good for a long time. I applied it every spring with a roller. Don't forget to clean it first. Avoid pressure washers. They can damage the wood unless you are very careful.

TWP is what all the wood people recommended to me while building my house. Seems to work better than anything else I've used in the past.

Mix old motor oil and diesel. Spray on with a garden sprayer. Will out live most other fences. No insects either.

Sherwin Williams makes a clear water seal product that is like Thompsons on steroids. In NOLA it's only available at their commercial store off Jefferson Hwy by the Huey Long bridge. And it's only available in 5 gallon jugs.
