Thinking of getting a waverunner for exploring louisiana

Good idea or bad? Can pick one up for super cheap, under 10 hours on it and fully serviced.
I have basically zero water experience.
I've always been a passenger in the boat.
Looks like the one I'm looking at has a 180 mile range on a full tank. Idk about the hull for cruising bayous and what not though.
I'd like to put in the Mississippi and ride down it. Something I've always wanted to do.

Jet pump would inhale all kind of bad shite and end up destroyed. Better idea would be to buy an all weld aluminum stump jumper with an outboard.

You would be fine in most places. Just need to be careful with water depth and grass beds. Not going in the river isn't a good idea. Jet skis are fun but money pits. And some arnt the most comfortable to ride all day. Get it. If u don't like it sell it

Just don't think I can beat 4k for a unit that isn't even broken in yet.

You'd probably destroy a wave runner with the quickness if you plan on sightseeing down Lousiana bayous. 4K can buy you a much more capable beginner rig that you won't have to be scared of poking a hole in.

Yeah, a spark. Rented one in Pensacola. Afte have ridden a few real skis, I wouldn't want a spark. It's like a toy version of a jet ski. (Which i know is a toy)

There's a heavy set fella who has one rigged for fishing that fishes out of grand isle. He's got rid holders, ice chest and all. I see him everywhere, deep in the marsh to fishing the beach. Seems to work fine for him.
