Thinking about a new pistol or revolver--talk me out of it

I like different guns for different reasons. I don't see me getting a concealed carry permit but I do see me carrying in my truck or very occasionally open carry so I am open to a lot of different guns. I have an old 38 revolver I will probably get rid of and I have a Mark 3 and a colt woodsman that I like to target shoot with sometimes.

I like this revolver Redhawk 45--acp and colt and this one GP100 357 mag. I like these pistols All American 45 ACP and this one that I really like FN 5.7

And for a sort of gimmick gun that might be a good snake gun S&W Governor

I think they are so different I just can't make my mind up. I am not buying more than one.

What you think?

I think you gun nut dudes are something else.

I buy a new gun about every 5 or 10 years. And I have way more than I need.

Me too. I certainly am not a gun nut. I don't know why I have a hand gun on my mind. I have more than I need and I haven't bought a pistol for 5 years and that was the Woodsman and the Mark 3 at the same time simply to shoot 22 and I like the old Woodsman because it was a gun Hemingway liked and is a 1946 model. I was afraid I might shoot the Woodsman and break it so I bought Mark 3 to shoot more.

I bet I haven't shot 500 round through either of the pistols.

Ruger SP 101 357 mag 4 inch. Not near as bulky as the G100 but the trade off is you lose one round for the chamber.

I rarely buy a new gun, but sometimes you just get the itch. I bought a .308 last week and still don’t know why. I always tote a bow and maybe grab a rifle once a year. Oh well, never bad to have another gun.

Sorry for my ignorance but with the Redhawk .45 ACP and .45 colt, don't you need moonclips?

No offense taken. It's a curiosity to me. I have a dozen friends who are just Gun Guys. They're always itching to get another one. And they take them out just to look at them, shoot them, etc.

I've got a 1997 Benelli SBE2 shotgun that's rusted and beat to hell. I just loaded it into a hard case for the flight to Canada tomorrow. It's the only shotgun I own. And it might be the only one I own 20 years from now.

I guess I'm just not a Gun Guy. That's all.

I would go based solely on the calibers you posted

1. GP100
2. Redhawk (put it in .44mag and I would take it to number 1)
3. FN

38. American 45
48534. Governor

This Redhawk and you can kill many things with it

ETA: .44 mag 7.5" barrel

HK P30sk. Nice compact gun so you will be ready if you ever get your CCP. Solid HK engineering. SA/DA with a decocker. Nice shooter too.

No.

Get a GP100 match champion. It’s the premier value in revolvers out there right now. It’s a legitimate semi-custom gun for what a normal smith costs.

Just 1 more!

I get this, and that's fine. But branding the OP in a derogatory fashion because he doesn't agree with your views is off putting. It's the same as the guy who has 300 lures, the guy who wants texted pictures from his game cameras, the devout bow hunters, people who like lifted deleted 7.0 F250s, etc., etc. I wouldnt go around telling them how to spend their money or time. Spend your money how you want, living life how you want. I know you're riding an OB high for the cooler ordeal, and that a tremendous thing you're doing for the community. But, that increased notoriety doesnt put you in a position to berate others in this community, which is one of the best on TD and one of the best online communities in South LA, sorry to the three guys on here from Bossier . Frankly, if you're not a gun guy why are you in this thread? I guess it was focused on the "talk me out of it" portion of the title or to just put down those that are "gun guys" by insinuating it's wrong or "nutty" to own more than X amount of guns. Hell you even had the OP crawfishing trying to rationalize his want for a new gun after your original comment. So much of this devide that we are in as a country is based on the logic if you dont think like me, you're wrong and frick you. But in reality, as long as what you do doesn't affect my fundamental rights..frick it, have at it. Do you.

/rant

Post rant: I know you're good people from your previous post and input in this community, and that was probably just a careless comment. I've just been dealing a lot with this specific topic the past two weeks and I'm just reaching a frustration point.

ETA: OP, my original comment was going to be the GP100 is a pretty damn good revolver for the price.
