I was sure disappointed. Wasn't at all what I expected. I've always enjoyed the sound of a powerful outboard. I expected this thing to really growl. But then again, I love the sound of any kind of powerful piston engine. Back in the day, I got a big kick out of sitting in the driver's seat and hearing that 140HP Johnson or Evinrude going down the lake at full throttle. Still do. Never had a Merc, but 300 horses here sounds like, well...wimp city. LINK

All I know is that it says Mercury on the cowling. Don't know what a verado is? Some kind of salt water fish?

I admit I don't know much about outboards. But if I had a full growed pet lion I would want it to roar and not go "meow". Let me HEAR them horses!

Do you fish or race boats? If fishing, why would you want a lion?

When you click the link this is in the video header, not sure exactly what you were expecting.

Mercury Marine President John Pfeifer tells FBN’s Jeff Flock why the company goes to great lengths to make sure boat engines aren’t too loud.

I was expecting 300 horses to be louder than a chicken fart. That is what I was expecting!

I'm not sure if the OP is serious. If rather have one of those 4 strokes than my loud 2 stroke that I have mix oil/gas with.
