my P320 is the medium compact. I'd say it's the same size as the Glock 19.

Ever afraid you'll shoot your balls off carrying there?

No, as long as your holster has a trigger gaurd it's impossible for the gun to fire while in the holster

It can fire if you holster improperly.

An a related note, when I bought my P320, had a guy mention those soft ambidextrous holsters that seem to be everywhere. He made the same comment that the trigger guard should prevent the gun from firing.

So I tested it out to see if it was possible for the gun to dry fire in the holster. I was able to wiggle my thumb onto the trigger and fire though the holster itself.

That's why I say Kydex (or some form of hard material build specifically for the gun) or go home.

If you are not using Kydex or similar rigid, molded material for - at a minimum - the trigger guard portion of your holster:

1. You better have a damned good reason, and

2. You better be damned careful.

Yeah, guys carried weapons in ratty old leather, chamois, soft ballistic and God knows what when those were the choices. You had to minimize bulk and weight. However, with the extremely high quality hybrid holsters (Crossbreed Supertuck, Comptac Minotaur, and several others) available now, there is simply no excuse to have a compromised trigger in any carry configuration, IMHO.

This can happen with a worn holster. Kydex seems like one of the most safe options.

I'm overly cautious with all guns and especially when reholstering. To each his own I guess. All I know is appendix is a much quicker draw and gun is easier to get to when taken to the ground in a physical altercation

When I carry I will carry appendix. The only thing is how careful you have to reholster the gun (which you said you do). But the draw and everything is much faster from appendix for me.

No doubt. If you don't practice gun safety religiously appendix carry isn't for you
