I never watch Jerry Springer. I am not even sure if it still airs new episodes....
This OB has to be on a level of greatness with it though....minus the pregnancies.
I would like to know why the #4 Buck is the choice and not 00 or even #1.
In a 12 Gauge if I remember correctly; 3" 00 is 12 pellets; #4 is 41 pellets.

Yea 4 buck is 4 buck no matter what it comes out of. Only advantage is extra pellets in the 12.
Honestly, in a HD situation, if you miss with a 20, you woulda missed with a 12. Just my opinion.

Has anyone ever shot Strung Buck Shot? If so, I would love to get an opinion on it.

The pellets are attached with wire, so I think bola is an accurate description.
OK, I found this website with all kinds of specialty ammo for a shotgun. Shotgun Ammo

Meh
Pretty pointless IMO. Might be good for shooting random shite, but plain ol buckshot is awesome inside of 20 yards out of even the crappiest patterning guns.

i don't know why i have to keep repeating myself, but if you buy your wife/SO a gun and teach her to shoot, one day she is going to get really pissed at you and shoot you with the gun. Best if she only has a knife to stab you with.
Also, if you absolutley have to buy the bitch a gun, why not get something you can use. Personally I would get one of those new Browning A5 12 guages, and tell her I spent that for her to use for self protection. Yeah, i'm gonna borrow it now and then, but it's your birthday present, dammit!
Can't figure out why i am divorced.

Thanks. Wasn't sure why the #4 was getting so much love over 00.
Now if we were talking goose hunting, #4 Buck was a bonafide destroyer...back in the day.

Wrong. Besides the fact you're throwing more lead downrange, you're also throwing it at a higher velocity and over and wider pattern. For a woman, this is important. Much more forgiving of bad shot placement...
Or in other words, 20ga = .243.

So...would 20 gauge #4 not kill an intruder? I keep a youth 20 gauge crack barrel with 5 #4 buckshots on it handy.
My reason for choosing #4 was I went to Academy in the spring and the only 20 gauge buckshot on the shelf was #4. I read "buckshot" and said good enough and bought that shite.
I'm not trying to be a dick here or anything. I just think we overthink this shite wayyyyy too much.

Im not looking at numbers right now, but i think the velocities are pretty close???
I think at 10' a miss with a 20= a miss with a punt gun. You wont have much pattern at bedroom range no matter what you shoot.
I also havent found a girl yet who likes shooting my 12 and they all like the 20. Just my opinion. The recoil on both is pretty stiff on a girl who doesnt shoot much, but they seem to like the lighter 20ga.

Either one is gonna completely blow somebody's shite away at 10'
Gonna be very nasty either way. Know a guy who shot a deer at 10 yards with a 16ga 1 buck. It was pretty horrible.

Table of Buckshot Size Size Diameter Pellets/10 g Lead
000 or LG ("triple-aught") 9.1 mm (.36") 2.2
00 ("double-aught") 8.4 mm (.33") 2.9
0 or SG("one-aught") 8.1 mm (.32") 3.1
SSG 7.9 mm (.31") 3.4
1 7.6 mm (.30") 3.8
2 6.9 mm (.27") 5.2
3 6.4 mm (.25") 6.6
4 6.1 mm (.24") 7.4
I think if you hit anyone at 20' with #6 shot or bigger, they are going down. 4buck would absolutly wipe them out. Where in your house are you going to shoot farther?

I really wanna take that little youth 20 gauge and saw it off. I could cut that thing down to like a 14" barrel or so. Would almost be like a single shot judge

It would be the ultimate weapon if you could make it shoot 7mm08 and keep my beer cold.
