Seems like I've been doing it wrong all these years. I'm guessing once word gets out Strike King will go out of business

New from strike king, the hack attack nugget. 100% white meat and comes in natural colors like golden brown. Hackney ate one but he hadn't changed the hooks out yet so he was ok.

wonder if he ends up with a ticket for taking a bass on a jugline? Maybe they let him slide since it was released.

Yeah, I don't think you can take game fish in TX on any type of static line or device. Yo-yo's are a no-no over there.

Great. Like I needed one more reason to love bass fishing. Now you're saying we eat the same things?!

From TPWD, regarding juglines: "May be used to take NONGAME fish, channel catfish, blue catfish and flathead catfish only."

He could get a ticket, but no telling if he will.

Wouldn't you have to be fishing for or in possession of a game fish? I don't think fishing with a chicken nugget would exactly be considered a bass bait and since released would be considered bycatch.

given the pictures of him at the marina, he was in possession. I think if you catch one on a jugline you are ok if you immediately release it.

but I really don't know for sure

Every once in a while oe of the forums I frequent runs a "stuff I found in a bass stomach" post. Proving something I have always known. Sure some things are more apealing to Mr. bucket mouth but it is an opertunist biting absolutely anything that hits em on the nose or is remotely interesting to them. Thats who stuff like this happens. Thats why you in your high doller bass boat with your 10's of thousands of dollers worth of equipment can be out fished by a bare foot kid with a cane pole. It's what makes it such a wonderful infuriating sport.

There's nothing infuriating about it, if it was just about catching them then every bait shop would sell 3" bream.

Anyone else think that maybe that bass was attempting to eat what ever was slowly eating that nugget?

small bluegill nibbling on it, a crawfish hanging on it, a baby catfish giving it the old grind?

When I was a kid I'd fish along a bayou by da house in the fall I'd catch bass with pecans in their guts not cause they liked pecans cause a tree hung ove the bayou and dropped em. The bass would hear a splash and atack the splash and wind up swallowing the pecan.

Absolutely possible, I imagine shad will swarm breading.

That or the profile of it may have looked like a baitfish wounded and suspending/twitching on the the jug.
