Does anyone not have termite coverage with a pest company? I thought that was a norm in south Louisiana, but I have 2 neighbors that both have termites and don't have coverage.

I dunno. My house had previous termite damage from prior owners and kept coverage there after. So i just kept it going as a preventative measure. Pretty small $ to have some ease of mind. Although I know it won't cover costs.

Crazy not to have it. We have been fixing a LOT of termite damage.

Having a termite contract, with or without a damage warranty, is a must IMO.

Having a damage warranty is basically piece of mind. It's pretty much like every other insurance you'll ever have; you won't need it until you need it.

Get Terminex; their policy includes Formosans.

I've been back and forth about renewing my contract. When I built my house I specified who I wanted to use and my builder went with someone else anyway. Now I feel like I'm being extorted because they require retreats twice a year for $150 each time. I did termite work in college and know how to do it all myself and the insurance they offer is usually very sketchy. Then can find any reason not to pay for damage. Changing companies would require a full treatment again and I don't feel like paying for that after only a year in the house.

My house was inspected at when I bought it almost 2 years ago but I haven't had termite treatment/inspection since. I really need to get this going though so I would appreciate any recommendations for termite companies in the Albany/Hammond area.

I'm the same way, this thread has me in a panic. I'm in the BR area. I think I'm going to call the Bug Man, or Dugas.

All companies cover Formosan termites now. Just be sure to ask that when initially getting coverage.

And anything over $150.00 per year (for an average size house) is too much for your renewals. Semi-annual renewals are good to have but cost more simply because the company is making more trips. However, if a problem arises, they usually catch it much quicker.

call river city. I had a retreatment recently done. They include future damage in their policy and the annual renewal was less than 200 per year.
