I had the opportunity to go on a "fish in a barrel" hunt to shoot an exotic deer basically for free, back in August, and even though I'm not all for hunting in a high fence, I couldn't turn down the chance to shoot an exotic deer. I ended up taking a white fallow buck, as well as a spotted fallow doe. And just let the guy who invited me take it to his taxidermist, getting a shoulder mount for the buck, and getting the hide tanned on the doe.

The taxidermist said he had been dealing with some personal stuff, and just got back to his work (back in august), he said he had 80 deer ahead of me.
How long should i expect before getting them back

Part of me wants to get it back and bring it else where, but i don't want to be disrespectful.

I waited 6 months for the only deer I've got mounted.

If he does it full time or has a helper 80 isn't that many. Remember a lot of these guys hunt too and don't work a lot during hunting season. The last guy I talked to said he does around 200 shoulder mounts plus the other mounts and doesn't really get started until February. He said he's done before Kentucky's bow season.

I know one who waits until the season is over and makes one order.
