Tandem kayak question

I've been thinking about buying a kayak for a while and would like to purchase one that I can use with my GF. Assuming that I will be paddling by myself sometimes, my question is...
Will a tandem kayak paddle just as easily with only one person?
This is the kayak that I am looking at.

I have a tandem sit in kayak as well as 2 solo kayaks. The tandem is alot more difficult to paddle solo even though one of the seats can be moved into the solo position. It doesn't look like the one you linked has a movable seat and the weight distribution would be off trying to go solo. I much prefer my canoe over the tandem kayak when I'm paddling with someone else.

Yes & it's easier sometimes if the other person does not paddle

Are you asking about having a passenger and one paddling, or being solo? I demoed a bunch and settled on the Jackson Big Tuna. I am a Jackson fan boy from my river days but there's three things that sold me on the Big Tuna, two of which are with all Jacksons. First is that I think Jackson has the best stock seats on the market. Not only are the seats raised/dry/comfy but they all come with an inflatable lumbar support. Second is the tracking and paddling that Jackson hulls are known for. Third is the different seat configs. It kinda is just easier for one person to paddle and the wife and I only really truely tandem paddle when we are trying to get somewhere in a hurry. It paddles very well for a 14' in solo config and it also paddles well with just one person doing the paddling. Our favorite config is "face time seating" where the front seat faces the rear seat. My wife uses it as a party barge with her friends while I fish.

I am asking about being solo. I know there will be times when I am on the water by myself, so I was asking about maneuverability on a tandem kayak with only one person seated in it. I haven't looked at Jackson kayaks, but I will check them out. The "face time seating" is definitley interesting, never thought you could do that in a kayak.

I have a 2 man & have gone solo 90% of the time & duck goose hunted out if it a lot with a 80# dog with no problem at all & probably paddled 7-8 miles or more round trip no problem at all

Check out Nucanoe. I have a 12' one that I'd large enough for 2 and easy yo handle solo.
