Plan on making a trip to Sam Rayburn this weekend. Only been there once before and am not to educated about the area. Plan on fishing prespawn flats, creek channels, hopefully some brush up shallow, and if all else fails, find some deep brush and rubble out deep. If any of you baws have any suggestions, i'll be glad to hear them.
Tight lines!

You could fish the five fingers /Hog Branch / Tiger creek / powell park area it has pretty much all you described wanting to fish.
All these areas are large and could be fished multiple days in a row and never fish the same water.
Its big so if you aren't use to fishing big reservoirs it can be a little intimidating.
You can pretty much fish south of the 147 bridge and run the entire lake with no problems, North of the bridge gets a little shady so be watchful

Put in above the 147 bridge in the Attoyac River. There is an area not too far from there known as the Deer Stand. Flooded bushes in several drains. They tend to get in there this time of year. Directly across the lake is an area known as the canyons. Same type of terrain. Cassel Boykins is the boat ramp on that side. A hotspot map will show you these areas in detail. Good Luck.

A shallow running flat billed crankbait will also work in the middle of the drains. They are not deep. That is, if you cant catch them out of the bushes.

The fish are 22 feet under your flatbill, Baw.

Never fished Rayburn but drive over it all the time. That area south of the bridge between Broadus and Zavalla looks awesome. Reminds me of 1215 or the mouth of Patroon with all the flooded bushes and hay grass mats.
