Staring down the inevitability of Hilldawg taking office I guess it's time to go ahead and build a rifle. I already have a general idea of how I want to put the rifle together. My question for the OT is what brands is everyone running? AAC, Gemtech, Silencerco etc. what are the pros and cons? I thank you for the onslaught of wisdom in advance.

Silencerco and Dead Air are making some great rifle cans right now.

She won't win unless people like you hopelessly avoid the polls because you think it won't matter. Please don't spread your inevitability negativity to those around you to discourage them from voting.

Let's be honest though, if you live in Lousiana and don't feel like voting, it's not a big deal because it legit won't matter.

I'm going to do my part and vote against her. However I am bracing for the worst.

Solid point. Should've specified to not discourage those in other states...

Can't blame you for that...

Why don't you direct thread you suppressor? Just got the omega last week and was told accuracy was better with direct thread. Any other reason? Still playing with mine trying to figure what I like best

Because I use it on other rifles.

It has no accuracy issues at 100 yds. Haven't had a chance to go any further yet, but subs drop pretty drastically if you get much further than that

Cool....yes I think the accuracy thing comes into play at longer distances.

Does that set up make any difference with sound or is it the same as direct thread?

No clue. Only shot it with the ASR mount.

I doubt there is any noticeable difference between either mount, accuracy or sound wise.

That's a lie. Typical gun shop counter talk. Quick detach suppressor technology has come so far that they're virtually indistinguishable now in terms of accuracy. You will have to deal with the can loosening from recoil with a direct thread
