Paid $160 per person to hunt this morning. Me and 3 buddies. The guide couldn't call to well, we didn't even get to shoot at a duck... Should we be asking for a refund?

Probably not a refund but I would tell the outfitter that you were very disappointed and I wouldn't have tipped if the guy couldn't call.

Duck hunting is a little slow in AR right now. I think the ducks are very spread out.

I wouldnt ask for a refund but I would let them know that I wouldnt be coming back ever and would tell of my experience anytime anyone asked about them.

ETA: Thats why I dont pay for guided duck hunts. Only been on one, my boss paid, and our hunt was about like yours. Our guide kept falling asleep in the blind. We hunted with Megabucks in Jones, La.

This shite drives me up the wall. Bet you a dollar to a dime that he didn't scout the area very well. He got lazy and hunted the same ole place. Trust me, its easy to do.

Look, I used to guide. There were shitty days when I wouldn't see a duck in the sky. It happens. Ducks can be like ghosts and disappear over night, but he shouldn't have taken a full fee.

$160/man is pretty cheap, cost $250/ man in SW La, does this guide have good reviews, is this the standard price in that area?

I'm going in January and it is 300 a gun, I have a bad feeling my hunt will turn out much like yours. Bad thing is we have already paid for both days.

Didn't realize that was cheap. Haven't paid a guide in ions. If that is pretty cheap then it sounds like some slack arse trying to under cut other guides.

Johnny was probably tired out from chasing skirts the night before.

One of my coworkers is up there now on a guided hunt. Did you hear any "Oh my God"s in the blind?

Kinda looks like you got what you paid for.

Dont feel bad...Friend of mine's company has thousands of acres around there leased and he basically doesn't go because it is so sporadic. DU is a great org except for the fact that they have created so much refuge and feeding grounds up north, not as many birds "need" to come this far south to get what they need. Unless you get many big freezes in the mid-mdiwest, there just is no reason for them to continue south.

Again, he can go at any time he desires and hasn't been in 2 years. That should tell you alot.

USFWS creates an awful lot of refuges......DU doesn't create many...

but your theory is on.. combined with no till farming... has significantly changed migration patterns..

and add to this the 400% increase in hutning pressure in the dakotas...duck hunting has changed...

oh and the fact that many young ducks are taken early in the season as they are very gullible for spinners.

ask anyone that hunted near geuydan or klondike what it was like in the late 70s and early 80s... compared to now...

hunting pressure and migration patterns change.. by habitat influences...LOOK canada geese USED To use the marsh on the east coast...

My buddy booked it. I think it's actually in Jonesboro. Duxmen is the name of the outfit I believe.
