Claude Martin is the best breeder. You'll pay, but his dogs are incredible.

Hope he still breeds them

Claude and I were in graduate school at the same time; USL early 90's.

Great guy who I would buy from in a NY second.

if he's no longer into poodle breeding, I'm sure he can provide a few referrals.

There are some real idiots in this thread. Owning a standard poodle isn't "manly" enough? lol. Id put up the intelligence, drive, and endurance of standard poodles against labs any day. You can make any dog as prissy as you want with enough grooming and hair bows.

Sad that there are guys that feel like they would be emasculated just for buying a certain breed of dog. Insecurity issues, much?

You know I was just kidding you about the dog? Turning in your man card bc your wife is telling you what to get is another story.

Just kidding.

Poodles are great dogs. I believe they are ranked as the 2nd smartest breed. When ours has to go to the bathroom, she looks at me and paws the ground. Never taught her this, she just started doing it on her own.

Any recommendations on local goldendoodle breeders? Looking at getting one for Christmas.

standard poodle

I was in Knotts Island, NC, and saw a female, half Poodle, half Chesapeake.

Unbelievable hunting dog.

Ours sit near the door and scratch it if we don't let them out after a while. They won't go outside or inside unless we say "ok". They won't drink a lot of water while we're gone because they know it makes em piss. We'll get home and they'll immediately go drink haha
